Abstract: 

The measured responses of some helium-based proportional counters placed within gamma or gamma/neutron radiation fields created by various isotopes used in medical radiotherapy will be presented. Possibility of application of such counters to control doses delivered during neutron radiotherapy will be discussed. Further research plans will be outlined.
