Abstract:
An extension of the theory of energy density functional applied to describe non-equilibrium phenomena in superfluid fermion systems (atomic nuclei, ultra-cold atomic gases) will be presented. Advantages and limitations of the approach based on time-evolution of the energy density functional will be shown. Possible applications inculde studies on nuclear reactions, forced fissions of nuclei, and generation/interaction of quantum whirls.
